In honour of our New Years trip to Revelstoke coming up in 10 days, we wanted to reminisce on the unreal time we had at their opening weekend at the beginning of December.
The base of the hill was balmy, lacking snow, which always lends a deceiving tone to the unknowing. But we knew what was waiting for us at the top.
We all spent a good chunk of the day cruising down the Ripper chair slopes, and sometimes we couldn't even see our knees because there was so much powder. It was a real shame honestly...I have very nice knees.
I think this video from Revelstoke's Youtube page does an awesome job of summarizing the stoke of opening weekend, and all that Revelstoke has to offer. And if some of the lines intimidate you, don't worry. There is fresh stuff aplenty on runs for all ability levels across the mountain. And if even that doesn't do it for you - you'll want to do it for the views.
Slope shredder, wordsmith, and can't reach the top shelf even with a stool!
